‘Narasimha’ is an avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu and one of Hinduism's most popular deities.
Narasimha is often visualised as half-man/half-lion, having a human-like torso and lower body,
with a lion-like face and claws. He is known primarily as the 'Great Protector' who specifically
defends and protects his devotees in times of need. In this movie, the name of the protagonist
played by Ajay Devgn is ‘Bajirao Singham’. He plays the role of a police officer who is fearless and brave.
In fact, the name ‘Singham’ literally means ‘Lion’. Hence, in this movie his strength and other qualities
are compared to that of a lion. There are Shlokas in the song too which are sung in praise of the
protagonist, and he is christened as a lion even there.
